Ideas for [not so normal] portrait photographs

I am researching photographers for my Photography classes, focusing on identity and/or portraits, but represented in ways other than the stock standard portrait photo.

N.B. The effect of a double exposure can be easily achieved using Photoshop and layers/opacity.
